INSURANCE CLAIMS INVESTIGATIONS
Injury / Accident / Workers Compensation
Insurance fraud is a crime - an indictable offence with imprisonment and or substantial fines
There are more honest people than NOT, great, but the select few who would rather try to defraud their insurance company for a complete or partial payout sabotage the insurance industry for everyone, causing insurance fees to rise.
Insurance fraud can include the exaggeration of otherwise legitimate claims, misrepresentation of the facts, or complex, organised manipulation of the claims process to gain a financial advantage where there has been no actual loss.
The most common form of insurance fraud is the exaggeration of personal claims.
Hard fraud of a claim - knowingly, intentionally making false claims and statements.
Soft fraud of a claim is typically where a person is already involved in a situation where they would receive an insurance payout, and they exaggerate their claim. Being involved in a car accident and claiming that your injuries are worse than they actually are, for example.
We provide evidence when we are engaged to conduct factual investigations through investigation, surveillance, and interviews with the subject and witnesses. This evidence is court-admissible. In respect to Workers Compensation cases, we may also look to see if any WHS laws or policies may have been broken.
If the claimant feels that they have been unfairly dealt with by an insurance company, they can also initiate an insurance claim cases. Like all of our cases, we approach the investigation without prejudice or judgement and with an open mind.
If you do not already have a legal practitioner, we can recommend that you engage one; however, we do not offer legal advice.
